La Liga giants Real Madrid were over the weekend dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Fran García finished the club’s meeting with Villarreal nursing an injury.
Real Madrid of course made the trip to La Ceràmica on Saturday, for the club’s final fixture ahead of the international break.
When all was said and done, Los Blancos emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, owing to a brace on the part of star frontman Kylian Mbappé.
As alluded to above, though, their eventual triumph appears to have come at a cost.
As per a report from Marca, following the full-time whistle on Saturday, Fran García immediately went to ground, with what was initially thought to be exhaustion.
It has since been revealed, however, that the Spaniard in fact picked up a groin injury.
Fran is now considered a major doubt to feature in Real Madrid’s next outing, against Leganés, a major concern for Carlo Ancelotti with fellow left-back Ferland Mendy already sidelined.
