According to reports in England, Victor Boniface is becoming an increasingly hot topic amongst Premier League clubs in recent weeks.
The Chronicle, a local news website for the Northeast of England, believes Newcastle United are interested while West Ham United are also keeping tabs on the Nigerian striker.
It is believed that the Magpies could see Boniface as an alternative option to Jonathan David if they fail to acquire the Canadian on a free transfer in summer.
The 24-year-old who has 21 goals in 35 appearances for Die Werkself is supposedly on the lookout for a move with his representatives on the case.
Boniface appeared destined for a €59million move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr before the deal fell through shortly before the latest winter transfer window shut.
West Ham have had their own problems up top, with summer signing and ex-Borussia Dortmund marksman Niclas Fullkrug enduring a rotten run of bad luck injury wise.
