James McAtee has been linked with a number of German clubs since the winter transfer window opened.
Now, Bayer Leverkusen appear to have stepped up their interest in the midfielder, with Fabrizio Romano and Sky Germany both reporting that the German champions have made an offer for the player.
Die Werkself are said to be in talks with Manchester City over a loan deal with an option to buy.
McAtee, 22, has played just 507 minutes in 14 games for Manchester City this season, scoring five times.
His contract with the Citizens expires in 2026.
