Despite having less than a year left on his contract with Bayern Munich, Alphonso Davies says he’s not thinking about his future at the moment.
There was much speculation over the summer linking Alphonso Davies with a move away from Bayern Munich, but he ultimately decided to stay put.
However, the big question now is whether he will stay beyond the summer of 2025, when his current contract expires.
So far, Davies and the Bavarians have been unable to reach an agreement on a new contract, reportedly due to disagreements over the player’s wages.
And speaking after Bayern’s 3-3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, the Canada international said that he has postponed a decision on his future until further notice.
“As of now, my full focus is to stay healthy and to play the game with the club I’m with right now. I’m not focused on what’s going on in the future. Just focusing on staying healthy and helping my team win,” Davies told ESPN:
Asked if he feels value at Bayern, Davies replied:
“Most definitely. My team make me feel valued. The whole Bayern community make me feel valued. I see that each and every day.”
