Hoffenheim have today submitted a loan offer to Burnley for Maxime Estève (22), as reported exclusively by Fabrizio Romano.
The Bundesliga want to strengthen their defence before Friday’s deadline but have failed with moves for Oumar Solet from RB Salzburg, Armel Bella-Kotchap from Southampton, and Étienne Youte Kinkoue from Le Havre, with all three deals collapsing in the final stages.
However, they did complete the signing of Robin Hranáč (24) from Viktoria Plzeň for a reported €8m, with the club now looking to make a move for Estève.
According to Romano, TSG have submitted a loan with a purchase agreement, which could become mandatory should certain conditions be met.
Estève played 19 games across all competitions for Burnley last season following his €12m move from Montpellier last summer, but was unable to prevent the club from relegation to the Championship.
Losing Estève would be a defensive blow to Burnley after they sold Ameen Al-Dakhil to Stuttgart for a reported €9m including bonuses.
