Olympique de Marseille have officially announced the signing of Valentin Carboni (19) from Inter Milan on a loan deal with an option to buy. However, while this was not disclosed in the press release, it has been previously reported that Inter have retained a buyback option if Marseille were to make the move permanent.
Carboni represents an exciting talent for Marseille as the club look to strengthen throughout the team. The playmaker can operate behind the number nine but has also earned some experience as a winger during his time playing for Inter’s U19s (and a brief stint in their first team) and the AC Monza first team during his loan last season.
His performances for Monza earned him a place in the Argentina squad that won the Copa América this summer. Carboni even managed to make an appearance off the bench for the nation during their group game against Peru.
