Five-times-capped German national team defender Marius Wolf has been spotted at the WWK Arena ahead of a move to FC Augsburg on a free transfer.
After his expiring contract with Borussia Dortmund was not renewed, 29-year-old German fullback/winger Marius Wolf has spent the summer searching for a new club as a free-agent. German website “Ligainsider” initially reported on interest from FC Augsburg late last week. Germany’s Kicker Magazine quickly confirmed the report. Now photos of Wolf at the WWK Arena have surfaced on instagram. It appears the move is about to be completed.
Wolf maintains an estimated market worth of €3 million and would constitute a solid signing for the Fuggerstädter. Augsburg have a dire need at the right-back position following Kevin Mbabu’s return to Fulham FC after his year-long loan stint. Alternate options Raphael Framberger and Robert Gunny are both on their way back from major surgeries.Wolf can likely expect an immediate chance to claim a starting spot.
