Olympique de Marseille are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo (31) and even submitted a €14m bid, according to a report this Sunday from The Athletic. The Premier League giants have reportedly turned down Les Phocéens‘ bid for the Japan international. Endo joined Liverpool from VfB Stuttgart last season in a €20m move. He remains tied with Arne Slot’s Reds with a contract set to expire in 2027. The outlet adds that Liverpool are not looking to part ways with the defensive midfielder with Endo also attracting interest from Bundesliga clubs.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano reports that talks of a Marseille move for Endo collapsed before Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille confirmed the signings of Watford midfielder Ismaël Koné (22) and of Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (28). Les Phocéens are undertaking a large squad revamp under the tutelage of the Italian manager. Marseille are pushing to sign Arsenal centre-forward Eddie Nketiah (25) as well as Freiburg right-back Killian Sildillia (22) and Malmö centre-back Derek Cornelius (26).
