Leroy Sané is looking forward to playing under former Manchester City teammate Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané is optimistic that Vincent Kompany will do a good job as the club’s head coach.
Sané played with Kompany at Manchester City and has fond memories of the 38-year-old.
“He took great care of us young players and supported us. He is also very ambitious. I have every confidence that he will do a good job at Bayern,” Sané told Kicker.
Kompany could play a key role in Bayern’s attempts to extend Sané’s contract beyond 2025. For now, though, the winger wants to focus on Euro 2024 with Germany.
“I have said often enough in recent weeks how much I enjoy playing for Bayern. We have already held initial talks and will continue them at an appropriate time after the European Championship,” Sané said, adding:
“What counts for me now is the national team, that’s what I’m concentrating on.”
Sané scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists in 42 matches for Bayern in the 2023/24 campaign.
