Stade Brestois have already made history, qualifying for European football for the first time in their history. However, a win against Toulouse FC could secure them a place on the podium and therefore a place in the UEFA Champions League proper next season.
If they are to pull of the incredible feat, they must do so with a depleted squad. Pierre Lees-Melou has been out since the start of May with a calf injury. It is a blow that also threatens to derail the Frenchman’s pre-season preparations for the next Ligue 1 campaign.
Like Lees-Melou, Bradley Locko has also been a central figure in Les Ty Zéfs’ unexpected success this season, however, he will also miss the match against Le TéFéCé through suspension. Julien Le Cardinal and Jonas Martin are also out injured, further depleting the options at Eric Roy’s disposal.
Brest likely lineup v Toulouse
Marco Bizot; Jordan Amavi, Lilian Brassier, Brendan Chardonnet, Kenny Lala; Mahdi Camara, Kamory Doumbia, Hugo Magnetti; Martin Satriano, Steve Mounié, Jérémy Le Douaron. (L’Éq)
