93% of Real Madrid’s minutes: One player now considered ‘indispensable’ by Xabi Alonso

A member of the midfield setup at La Liga leaders Real Madrid has established himself as nothing short of ‘indispensable’ in the plans of manager Xabi Alonso.

That’s according to Diario AS, who highlight Aurélien Tchouaméni as the player in question.

France international Tchouaméni is for his part fresh off another starring performance this past weekend.

En route to Real Madrid securing some long-awaited revenge on arch rivals Barcelona, the 25-year-old proved himself something of an unsung hero.

Whilst the likes of Jude Bellingham and Álvaro Carreras took the plaudits, Tchouaméni was a source of consistent excellence on both sides of the ball.

This built further upon what has been nothing short of a stellar campaign to date on the part of the former Monaco man.

His ever-growing importance to the cause in Spain’s capital is backed by the numbers, with Tchouaméni having been on the pitch for 1,089 of a possible 1,170 minutes (93%) across Real Madrid’s 13 fixtures to date.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear that the Frenchman is now considered nothing short of ‘indispensable’ in the XI of Xabi Alonso.
