Week 6 of the NFL season starts tonight, which means many NFL Fantasy Football managers already have their lineups set for this upcoming slate of games.
Plenty of players have lived up to their high expectations this season, while some of the league’s most decorated stars still haven’t found their rhythm.
GIVEMESPORT has ultimately identified a list of players who are trending in all sorts of directions, but can ultimately make-or-break your season. Here are five players you should trade away and trade for immediately to stay in the playoff hunt.
Trade For Derrick Henry
It’s true that we are not bullish on Derrick Henry‘s prospects heading into Sunday’s clash against the Los Angeles Rams. But after that game, the
Baltimore Ravens‘ schedule lightens up significantly against several teams with terrible rushing defenses.
In fact, only two opponents on the slate are in the top half at stopping the run: the Green Bay Packers and the
Cleveland Browns. Lamar Jackson will return soon, which should give the Ravens’ star running back more room to operate in the coming weeks.
Right now, Henry’s value is about as low as it will be this season.
Trade Away Rashid Shaheed
Rashid Shaheed is coming off a 21.4-point performance against the New York Giants. The
New Orleans Saints‘ wideout caught four passes for 114 yards and a touchdown in his team’s first win of the season.
Shaheed is a dynamic playmaker who is an intriguing deep threat for quarterback Spencer Rattler. But he’s been way too inconsistent this season and just faced one of the weaker secondaries in the NFL. Selling high on him right now would be a wise move.
Trade For Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins has been a breakout player on the Cleveland Browns’ offense, who still wouldn’t cost a significant haul in a trade. The rookie running back is averaging 15.5 points a game, which is 20th among players at his position, and his carries are continuing to go up.
With Dillon Gabriel under center and hopefully turning over the ball less than Joe Flacco, Judkins should get more opportunities to reach the end zone more often.
And most of the Browns’ opponents left on the schedule have relatively weak rushing defenses. Therefore, we’re anticipating that the 21-year-old is going to be a borderline untradeable asset in a few weeks, meaning that the time to strike a deal for him is now.
Trade Away D.K. Metcalf
D.K. Metcalf is building chemistry with quarterback Aaron Rodgers and coming off his best fantasy performance of the season against the Minnesota Vikings.
However, the 27-year-old wideout has historically not been a reliable starter throughout most of his career, even during one of his Pro Bowl seasons.
While the opponents left on the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ schedule are not as reliable as the Vikings’ defense in restricting opposing wideouts, we believe Metcalf’s current value could swing a trade for a player with a much higher ceiling than him.
Trade For Quentin Johnston
Quentin Johnston is one of the players that Fantasy Football managers could potentially add in a D.K. Metcalf trade. The Los Angeles Chargers’ third-year wideout has been on a steady upward trajectory during his career and is averaging 17.3 points this season.
Johnston’s value is likely still at a reasonable price because he’s coming off a 6.9-point performance against the Washington Commanders.
That performance was likely an anomaly and largely due to a hamstring ailment that the 24-year-old is still nursing. When Johnston gets back to 100%, which should be soon, he should resume his Pro Bowl-caliber season.
Trade Away C.J. Stroud
C.J. Stroud is coming off two encouraging fantasy performances against the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens, but those games were against two of the worst secondaries in 2025.
The Houston Texans are back in the AFC North hunt, yet this team’s dismal offensive line will constantly have its quarterback on his back foot.
Stroud is going to be worth a starting or high-end backup slot on some roster, and his value might not get any higher than it is right now.
Trade For Tetairoa McMillan
We still believe in Tetairoa McMillan as a fantasy starter, and he should improve as the season goes on. The rookie wideout is receiving a healthy number of targets every game and had his best performance of the year against an underrated Arizona Cardinals‘ secondary.
The main issue has been the 22-year-old’s inability to get into the endzone. We believe McMillan’s fortunes will change in the near future, as he is a very credible red zone threat physically.
Trade Away Rico Dowdle
Unlike Tetairoa McMillan, Rico Dowdle has already likely peaked this season. The Carolina Panthers‘ running back had the best performance of his life against the
Miami Dolphins, rushing for 206 yards, one touchdown, and putting up 32.4 fantasy points.
Chuba Hubbard is still questionable for the Week 6 clash against the Dallas Cowboys, but once the Panthers’ starting back returns to action, Dowdle’s production will predictably go down.
The time to sell high is right now, especially with Hubbard’s health still day-to-day.
Trade For Matthew Golden
Matthew Golden is gradually finding his footing in the Green Bay Packers’ offense, and the reports from practice indicate that the rookie wide receiver is going to have a larger role going forward.
The first-round pick out of Texas is an explosive playmaker who is an ideal deep threat in Matt LaFleur‘s play-action passing game. So long as Golden stays healthy and continues to build chemistry with quarterback Jordan Love, his value should skyrocket.
The 22-year-old’s value is still at a very reasonable price, considering that he is only averaging 6.6 fantasy points per game. Golden has a chance to be a reliable flex option in a fantasy lineup going forward.
Trade Away Darren Waller
Darren Waller is back in the NFL after a year-long hiatus, and he’s hit the ground running with the Miami Dolphins. The former Pro Bowl tight end has scored more than 36 combined points in two games and is the ninth-ranked fantasy player at his position heading into Week 6.
Nevertheless, Waller has been highly reliant on getting into the end zone against two very weak secondaries. The Dolphins also have other players at the 33-year-old’s position fighting for and receiving additional reps.
Fantasy managers could ultimately get a major haul for a player who hasn’t scored less than 17.7 points this season.
