Real Betis have renewed William Carvalho’s contract with the club, as reported by Estadio Deportivo.
While it is yet to be made official, sources close to the club have communicated that the contract renewal has already taken place.
Negotiations between the club and the player have been going on for months and the player was linked with a move away from Los Verdiblancos all summer.
The Portuguese international was keen on leaving Real Betis and Nottingham Forest were interested in signing the midfielder. However, talks stalled between the two clubs as the Premier League side were not willing to meet Real Betis’ asking price.
William Carvalho opted to stay at the Estadio Benito Villamarín as he is fully aware that the World Cup is just around the corner and he is a regular starter at Los Verdiblancos.
The 30-year-old signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until June 2026.
