What Pep Guardiola Said to Dean Henderson Which Sparked Furious Exchange

A lip-reading expert has revealed what Pep Guardiola may have said to Dean Henderson during their heated exchange at the culmination of the 2025 FA Cup final. The pair were caught being separated from one another at full-time, with Guardiola insisting that he didn’t say anything to the English goalkeeper.

Henderson was in inspired form at Wembley, keeping out Omar Marmoush’s penalty and pulling off a string of other incredible saves to keep a clean sheet, though he was fortunate not to have been sent off after handling the ball outside his area in the first half. Now, details regarding the potential extent of his conversation with Guardiola have come to light.

Guardiola Called Henderson a ‘Disgrace’ in Post-Match Feud

The Catalan coach allegedly didn’t hold back with his thoughts

According to expert Jeremy Freeman, as per the Daily Mail, Guardiola did not mince his words when he approached Henderson as he gave a brutal five-word assessment of the former Manchester United star.

Freeman claimed that as the celebrations began, Guardiola made his way over to Henderson, telling him, “You didn’t deserve that. Disgrace.” Henderson responded by repeatedly referencing the added time at the end of the second period. “You still had your 10 minutes,” he said, repeating the phrase three times to the former Barcelona man.

Guardiola, agitated, replied, “It’s not fair play. You should not – it’s not fair,” as tensions flared between the two. Palace’s backup goalkeeper, Matt Turner, eventually stepped in to separate them, pulling Guardiola away from the confrontation. The City boss could also be seen wagging his finger at the 28-year-old, who seemingly gestured back by showing the number ten on his hands, another reference to the stoppage time.

The goalkeeper did confirm with ITV after the game that he did mention the length of the game to Guardiola in their discussion, stating: “I just went to shake his hand but obviously I think he was disappointed with the time wasting. I said, “You got the 10 minutes that you wanted”. No hard feelings.”
