The future of West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta has become the subject of speculation.
The Brazilian attacking midfielder is facing an uncertain future at West Ham and with interest increasing in his services, the Hammers may have to prepare for life without him.
Cleared of the spot-fixing allegations that had hung over him for nearly a year, the Brazilian playmaker has successfully restored his reputation and, in turn, reignited interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Manchester City are interested in Lucas Paqueta
Sources close to the agents industry have told CaughtOffside that Manchester City have revived their long-standing pursuit of the midfielder. Pep Guardiola has been a keen admirer of Paqueta’s talent.
Tottenham are also in the mix, with new manager Thomas Frank eager to inject more vision and versatility into his squad.
Crystal Palace have also emerged as one of the clubs interested in the Brazilian playmaker.
Palace see Paqueta as a marquee signing who could elevate their attacking quality and help offset the potential departure of Eberechi Eze.
The West Ham United star played 33 times in the Premier League last season and scored four goals.
Meanwhile, Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr have expressed an interest, but the 27-year-old’s preference remains firmly tied to top-level European football. He has little appetite for a move to the Gulf at this stage of his career, nor for an immediate return to Brazil, despite Flamengo holding admiration for their former academy product.
West Ham United have dropped asking price for Paqueta

From West Ham’s perspective, the picture is clear. The Hammers have placed a £30-40 million valuation on Paqueta, a significant drop from the nearly £80m offers they fielded last summer before the legal case stalled negotiations.
While the London club would prefer to keep one of their most talented players, the reality is that they are now open to offload him if they can the asking price they are demanding.
West Ham know they risk unsettling the player if they refuse to engage with interested clubs, and given the caliber of suitors circling, an exit is looking increasingly likely.
