West Ham players unhappy with David Moyes’ approach but the hierarchy still supports him

Some West Ham United players are reportedly unhappy with manager David Moyes’ defensive approach.

This is according to The Guardian who claim the Scottish boss faces a growing discontent within his squad following the humiliating 4-0 loss at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

The Hammers were absolutely battered at the Amex with Alexis Mac Allister, Joel Veltman, Mitoma and Danny Welbeck all earning their names on the scoresheet.

The latest defeat leaves the Irons just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League table.

However, Moyes reportedly still retains the backing of the hierarchy who believe he can turn the club’s fortunes around soon.

Next two matches very crucial

West Ham boast a lot of quality in their squad and they shouldn’t be anywhere near the drop zone.

The Hammers splashed over £160 million in the summer transfer window, signing the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Gianluca Scamacca and Nayef Aguerd.

However, many of the new arrivals have failed to make a huge impact at the London Stadium.

David Moyes’ men will now travel to Cyprus to take on AEK Larnaca in the first-leg of their Europa Conference League round of 16 tie on Thursday.

The Hammers will subsequently welcome Aston Villa to the London Stadium in the Premier League.

If West Ham fails to do well in their next two matches, it is hard to see Moyes keeping his position at the club.

The Scottish boss has been given a lot of time this season but he has consistently failed to deliver results.
