The conversations between VAR officials and the on-pitch referee will be broadcast live during games in Serie A soon.
The FIGC, Italian Football Federation, AIA, Italian Referees Association, and DAZN, in collaboration with Lega Serie A, have announced that they have reached an agreement to make officiating in Serie A more accountable as they look to tell the stories of the top tier of Italian football in a new way.
Starting from tomorrow – the 24th of September, the VAR clips and events will be commented on and analysed in-depth in a new Open VAR format and this will have a guest from AIA every week. In another show, the referee designators of Serie A and Serie B will reconstruct the main issues around VAR calls of the gameweek and the DAZN hosts will be present with them.
Not only that, there will also be space to analyse refereeing decision through the exclusive audio of the referees’ and VAR and this process will be complemented by the definitive images of refereeing evaluations and interpretations.
