Two Real Madrid stars are in the running for iconic no.10 jersey

An insight into the battle to secure ownership of the no.10 jersey at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Tuesday been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Marca, and confirms that a pair of players are currently in the running for the shirt.

The iconic 10 of course recently became available at the Santiago Bernabéu for the first time in several years.

As much comes after the jersey’s most recent owner, Luka Modrić, departed following the expiration of his contract.

To date, Kylian Mbappé has been the member of Xabi Alonso’s squad most hotly tipped to take over from Modrić.

If the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, however, then the Frenchman is not the only player in the running for the shirt…

As per a report from Marca, whilst Mbappé is indeed a contender, so too is young teammate Arda Güler, expected to play a leading role under the watch of new boss Alonso this coming season and beyond.
