Tottenham Hotspur could look to snap up free agent Ben Foster following Hugo Lloris’ injury, reports the Mirror.
The French goalkeeper could spend up to eight weeks on the sidelines after injuring his knee against Manchester City.
Spurs have Fraser Forster to step in for Lloris but are without another experienced goalie in their ranks.
Despite being 24 years old, Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman have just one appearance for the north London club between them.
Foster left Watford at the end of last term after his contract ended and retired.
However, the 39-year-old would be available as a free agent on a short-term deal.
He could end up playing zero minutes for Spurs if he is signed, but they cannot risk being without experienced cover.
The former West Bromwich Albion star made 26 appearances for Watford in the Premier League last term.
Foster brings a lot of quality to the table and could fancy his chances against Forster.
Forster joined Tottenham during the last summer transfer window on a free after his Southampton contract ended.
The 34-year-old has since made four appearances for manager Antonio Conte’s side.
One of them has come in the Premier League, and he will now look to prove himself in goal for Spurs. Forster featured in 19 league games for the Saints last term.
The former Celtic star could even prove to be an upgrade on the Tottenham captain. Lloris has committed the most errors (four) leading to goal this term.
The club are chasing their first silverware since 2008, and having a consistent and error-free goalie will go a long way to helping them achieve their aim.
