Thomas Tuchel jokes he’ll bring Kylian Mbappé to Bayern Munich on his bike

Thomas Tuchel expressed his admiration for Kylian Mbappé (24), with whom he worked at Paris Saint-Germain and joked that he would bring the France captain to Bayern Munich during an interview with Canal Plus.

Mbappé played under Bayern Munich manager Tuchel on 98 occasions for PSG. During that time, he scored an incredible 83 goals and registered 46 assists. He was a key figure in guiding Les Parisiens to the Champions League final in 2020, which they ultimately lost to Bayern Munich.

Tuchel pessimistic of Mbappé signing for Bayern Munich

The France captain’s contract with PSG expires at the end of the current campaign. Mbappé’s refusal to trigger a one-year extension in his deal in the summer saw him ostracised before eventually being re-integrated into the first-team setup. However, Mbappé could leave on a free in the summer of 2024 and will do so unless an agreement over an extension is reached.

Real Madrid are the favourites to sign the AS Monaco academy product, regardless of recent reports in Spain to the contrary, but Tuchel has said that he wants to bring Mbappé to the Allianz Stadium. “He will play for us, it’s clear,” joked the Bayern Munich manager.

Kylian is Kylian. He’s extraordinary. He is very intelligent. If he wants me to pick him up on my bike, I’ll do it, but in reality, I don’t think he’ll come here,” added Tuchel.
