Serge Gnabry’s convincing performances since the start of the season have sparked questions about the attacker’s future at Bayern Munich, with the 30-year-old out of contract at the end of the season.
At a press conference on Friday, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund commented on Gnabry’s rise in form and his situation at the club.
“Things move very quickly. He was first labelled by the media as one to sell, now the talk is of a new deal,” Freund said.
“It’s fun watching him. The most important thing is that he stays fit. Then we know what we’ve got with him. He’s always got excellent character, which is also hugely important.
“Our goal is to keep him fit, keep playing, and then we’ll all have great enjoyment with him.”
Gnabry will have his next chance to impress against Hoffenheim on Saturday.
