The ‘secret’ clause that helped Barcelona beat the competition to Roony Bardghji signing

An insight into how La Liga giants Barcelona managed to beat out the stiff competition to secure a deal for FC Copenhagen sensation Roony Bardghji has this week been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, and confirms that the inclusion of a sell-on clause in the player’s contract proved key.

Youngster Bardghji is of course expected to be unveiled as a new Barcelona player at any moment.

After being identified as a market opportunity on the part of Deco and co. ahead of the expiration of his contract with FC Copenhagen later this year, Barca swooped decisively to bring the 19-year-old to Spain.

And as alluded to above, on Tuesday, an insight into precisely how as much came about has been forthcoming.

Bardghji was a man in-demand this summer, with a whole host of leading European clubs understood to have been sniffing around his signature.

As revealed by Sport, though:

‘Within the negotiation with Copenhagen, the inclusion of a resale clause was key which, according to Danish media, would amount to 15% of a future transfer. Thanks to this move, the Barça sporting management has been able to prevail over the other offers by paying a lower fixed amount.’
