  • Manchester City and Manchester United both have at least two players in the top 10 earners.

Football is now home to the mega-rich both on the pitch and in the owners’ box, and the Premier League is the most affluent competition of them all. The spending power of England’s top flight dwarfs its European counterparts, attracting the best managers and players alike, although such talent comes at a price. A hefty price.

With Premier League spending now regularly topping £1 billion in the summer transfer windows, the players are commanding higher and higher wages. And it’s only poised to get loftier with asking prices rising and wage packets also going through the roof – and that has got the cogs in our brains churning.

Which current Premier League player earns the most on a weekly basis? Here, GIVEMESPORT take a look at the highest-earning stars currently gracing English shores with the help of the folks over at Capology, who have provided the figures.

The highest-paid managers in world football have been revealed, with a surprise national team coach topping the list.

1

Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

Weekly wage: £525,000

Erling Haaland, in 2022/23, became one of the most impressive Premier League debutants who instantly demanded significant financial reparations, yet it is undisputable that the 6 foot 4 goalscoring machine has justified Manchester City’s weekly outlay that is hefty enough to make your eyes water.

Leeds-born Haaland has been crucial in Pep Guardiola’s side’s ways of thinking and playing, breaking Andy Cole and Alan Shearer’s record of 36 goals in a single Premier League campaign in 2022/23. His initial terms saw him take home £375,000-per-week but, after putting pen to paper on a lucrative nine-and-a-half year, that figure jumped to a whopping £525,000 every week.

After equalling Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of being the fastest player to reach 100 goals for one club last season, he somewhat struggled to carry his form all the way through as the Cityzens failed to win a trophy for the first time since Pep Guardiola’s maiden voyage in the 2016/17 campaign. That said, he still managed 22 goals in 31 Premier League appearances, ensuring he keeps his place among the best strikers in the world right now.

2

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Weekly wage: £400,000

Liverpool would certainly be in a much worse position if they hadn’t persuaded Salah to commit his future to the club in the summer of 2022. The immensely talented right-winger has been a talismanic figure for the Reds in recent years, claiming a Champions League crown, two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups and much more during his time at Anfield.

Erling Haaland, Rodri and Mohamed Salah are all in the top 20 best players in the Premier League.

After months of speculation about his future, Salah penned a new two-year contract in April 2025 that will see him make £400,000 per week (with bonuses not included) over the next two years, as the Egyptian King continues to age like a fine wine – evidenced by the fact he’s among young guns such as Lamine Yamal for this year’s Ballon d’Or.

3

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)

Weekly wage: £350,000

As the best centre-back in the world, it makes sense that Virgil van Dijk will be handsomely paid for his services. However, as defenders usually don’t make as much as forwards, it’s a testament to his quality that the Dutchman is among the biggest earners in the Premier League.

Now 33, there was plenty of speculation that Van Dijk would leave in the summer of 2025, but he instead opted to sign a new contract to keep him at Anfield for two more seasons (until the summer of 2027). The colossal dutchman will earn £350,000-per-week over the next two years as he hopes to captain the side to even greater success after leading them to a second Premier League title in five seasons last time out.

4

Casemiro (Manchester United)

Weekly wage: £350,000

Technically tied in third place with Van Dijk is Manchester United midfielder, Casemiro. The five-time Champions League winner joined his current club in the summer of 2022 after completing a £70 million move as he yearned for a taste of English top flight action. At Real Madrid, the Brazil international formed a formidable cocktail of midfielders alongside Toni Kroos and Luka Modric and was tasked with solidifying Erik ten Hag’s new-look Red Devils.

And Casemiro did just that in his first season, despite missing several games through suspension, justifying his £350,000-per-week earnings by guiding United to their first piece of silverware and, in turn, ending their six-year drought. His form wasn’t carried on into the 2023/24 and 2024/25 campaigns though, with it being rumoured that the Red Devils would like to get rid of the Brazilian to clear up their wage bill. And considering how much he’s on, it would certainly free up a lot of space, even if he played a starring role in United’s run to the Europa League final in May proved he can still play his part in Ruben Amroim’s rebuild, with his physical transformation also intensifying that notion.

5

Raheem Sterling (Chelsea)

Weekly Wage: £325,000

Raheem Sterling

From blitzing defenders on the wing for Manchester City to carrying the burden for Chelsea, Raheem Sterling has always tended to receive a big weekly pay day. The Blues, under Todd Boehly’s reign, have been keen to splash the cash on big transfer fees, while also offering their players hefty wages.

However, despite Sterling topping the list of Chelsea earners while at Stamford Bridge, his future was cast into doubt following the arrival of Enzo Maresca. Banished from the first-team, the winger moved on loan to Arsenal, while he continued to be paid his full salary. The Gunners covered less than half of Sterling’s wages – ensuring that Chelsea were effectively paying the winger more than £150,000-per-week to play for one of their capital rivals in the 2024/25 campaign. But now back on the west end, it remains to be seen where he will play his football next season as he continues to miss big chances by the bucket-load.

6

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

Weekly wage: £300,000

Another United midfielder ranking high on the list is Bruno Fernandes. Having arrived in England back in 2020, the Portuguese star has shone for the Red Devils and was recently awarded a bumper contract that saw his weekly salary increase by over £100,000. The enigmatic Fernandes now takes home £300,000 every week and has extended his stay at Old Trafford until June 2027.

He is among the Red Devils’ most cash-strapping stars, but it’s for good reason. If Amorim’s side are to stand any chance of making something of a – so far – dismal new era, this man will have almost certainly played a key role in that, as the creator of the most clear-cut opportunities among any Premier League player across the last three campaigns.

7

Jack Grealish (Manchester City)

Weekly wage: £300,000

MixCollage-16-Dec-2023-08-50-AM-1893

You could say that eyebrows were raised upon City parting ways with £100 million to sign Birmingham-born Jack Grealish, known to be one of the nicest footballers on the planet, from Aston Villa. With the high-profile move to the perennial winners came a bumper pay rise to £300,000-per-week – but does his return warrant so much being spent on his wages?

Seventeen goals and 23 assists have been totted up by the lovable Englishman in 157 City games. For reference: he has more yellow cards than goals. A talented winger, of course, but you’d expect more bang for your buck, wouldn’t you? That’s why recent reports suggest he could be on his way out this summer, even after drunken videos of him at an Oasis concert that showed him pronouncing his love for the club went viral.

8

Bernardo Silva (Manchester City)

Weekly wage: £300,000

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola embraces Bernardo Silva after a win.

Bernardo Silva is a vital piece of Guardiola’s blueprint, one of the most expensive Portuguese players in Premier League history, and he earns £300,000 per week. Not a bad life, is it? Much like David Silva in the past, the Portuguese magician is the glue that holds the star-studded nature of City together.

A Swiss army knife of a small stature – though his high intelligence, no doubt, eclipses his size. Opting to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium over last summer would’ve been music to his teammate’s ears given how influential he is to the Manchester-based club. He may not tot up eye-catching figures in the goals or assists department, but Silva provides much, much more than that. An unsung hero, if you will, who will be vital in helping repair Guardiola’s winning machine next season.

9

Omar Marmoush (Manchester City)

Weekly wage: £295,000

Omar Marmoush

Joining from Eintracht Frankfurt to Manchester City in the 2025 January transfer window, Omar Marmoush is already one of the highest-earning players in the Premier League, and with good reason too. The Egypt international absolutely dominated the Bundesliga with his blend of pace, dribbling and finishing ability, and the early signs are that he is set to be a formidable force in the English top-flight too.

Having already netted a hat-trick for Pep Guardiola’s side within a couple of months of joining, Marmoush looks like he could be integral alongside Erling Haaland as they look to rejuvenate things at the Etihad following a rather disappointing 2024/2025 campaign on the whole.Seven goals in his first 17 league outings in sky blue is a decent return, and there’s every chance that improves tenfold in his first full season next term.

10

Kai Havertz (Arsenal)

Weekly wage: £280,000

Kai Havertz earning just £20,000 less than someone of Omar Marmoush’s ilk seems strange. As Arsenal’s highest-paid player, the former Chelsea target man struggled somewhat with the cross-London switch at first but, slowly but surely, seems to be coming into his own in the fabled red of the north Londoners. The £280,000-a-week earner set the Champions League alight in 2021 by netting the only goal of the final as they beat an industrious City, led by Guardiola.
