Yesterday Louis van Gaal announced the players that he will call up to the Netherlands’ World Cup squad.
The 71-year-old head coach decided to only include two players from La Liga, namely Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong and Memhpis Depay.
De Jong has been showing great form over the last couple of weeks, having played a key role in putting the Blaugrana at the top of La Liga going into the international break.
Despite only being on the bench for Barcelona for the Catalan outfit’s last four matches, Van Gaal also decided to call up Memphis Depay, who was linked with a move away from the club last summer.
