Terence Crawford Tipped to Knockout Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez

On the 13th of September, one of the biggest boxing matches of the year will take place between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Terence Crawford. The potential of Canelo vs Crawford has been spoken about a lot over the last few years, however, up until the last few months it has never seemed a realistic possibility, but thanks to Turki Alalshikh, the fight will happen and will be promoted by UFC president Dana White and will headline the very first fight card for TKO Boxing.

Canelo and Crawford are two of the best and most technically sound boxers alive, so the fight will be a showcase of boxing at the very highest level, however, the biggest talking point ahead of the fight is the size and weight difference between the fighters. With doubts being there about Crawford’s size and him going up so much weight, this has prompted many interesting predictions from fans, analysts and fighters, and WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson has given arguably the most confident and shocking prediction yet.

Shakur Stevenson Backs Terence Crawford to “Cook” Canelo Alvarez

Stevenson is supremely confident that Crawford will make easy work of the Mexican star

Ahead of September’s superfight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, boxing fans, analysts, and fighters have been putting forward their predictions, and a large majority of the predictions are either leaning towards the Mexican getting the victory or that the fight is too tough to call. Despite Canelo’s recent uninspiring form, Crawford is still a sizeable underdog to win, however, WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson has predicted that ‘Bud’ is going to “cook” Canelo and even insinuated that the weight and size difference isn’t as big of a factor as people believe it is.

Stevenson said the following to Fight Hub TV:

“I think ‘Bud’ is going to cook Canelo. Canelo is a hell of a fighter, but I think ‘Bud’ has all the tools to beat him. I think ya’ll make that (the weight difference) something. I feel like with Canelo, he’s physically big but height-wise he’s kind of small, so I don’t think so, no.”

Shortly after Stevenson gave his bold prediction, he also revealed that he believes it is a very realistic possibility that Crawford actually stops Canelo and even implied that arrogance and overconfidence from the Mexican could land him in big trouble as “‘Bud’ “can crack too.”

Time will, of course, soon tell what happens in the highly anticipated showdown later this year, but one thing is for certain, Stevenson is the most confident out of all of the fighters and analysts who have been asked for their predictions for the fight.
