Here is our preview of Thursday’s Europa League group stage clash between Freiburg and FK TSC Bačka Topola, including predicted lineups.
SC Freiburg will be looking to end a three-match winless streak when they welcome Serbian side FK TSC Bačka Topola to the Europa-Park Stadium on Thursday evening.
Things looked bleak for Christian Streich’s men at the weekend when they found themselves 3-1 down against Gladbach, but they managed to salvage a draw, with Vincenzo Grifo leveling from the penalty spot in stoppage time.
Grifo was also the hero for Freiburg away to TSC Backa Topola, as the Italy international scored a second-half hat-trick in a 3-1 comeback win.
The Serbs haven’t lost since that defeat, beating Cukaricki 2-0 at the weekend after drawing with Novi Pazar and Crvena Zvezda.
Streich is expected to field a four-man backline as he did against Gladbach, with Noah Weisshaupt likely to start at the expense of Ritsu Doan after scoring at the weekend.
