As reported by Kicker, Stuttgart have identified Fenerbahçe forward Mërgim Berisha as a replacement for Saša Kalajdžić, who is expected to join Wolves before Thursday’s deadline.
Although nothing more than interest at the moment, Berisha wants to and is allowed to leave Turkish side Fenerbahçe after just one-year at the club following his €5m from RB Salzburg last summer.
The 24-year-old has played just 16 minutes of football for Fenerbahçe this season, but scored in their 3-3 draw against Ümraniyespor. The former German youth international wasn’t in the squad for the games against Kasimpasa and Adana Demirspor.
During his time in Turkey, Berisha scored eight and created three in 32 games.
Wolves are planning to submit an improved offer for Kalajdžić after seeing their opening bid of €15m rebuffed. Should the Austrian forward leave VfB this summer, then expect Sven Mislintat & Co. move quickly to try and finalise a deal for Berisha.
