RC Strasbourg Alsace are continuing their pursuit of Stade de Reims midfielder Valentin Atangana (19), and have submitted a third bid for the France U21 international, according to a report from L’Équipe.
It was expected that clubs would be lining up to sign Atangana once Reims’ relegation to Ligue 2 was confirmed. The likes of Amadou Koné and Yehvann Diouf, two of the other more bankable assets in Les Stadistes’ squad, were quickly sold. The former joined Neom SC, the latter joined OGC Nice, decreasing Reims’ need to sell more assets.
However, Strasbourg have shown interest throughout the window. They are now stepping up their attempts and have recently seen a third offer for the midfielder rejected. Whilst RCSA remain keen on getting their man through the door, they must now contend with competition.
AS Roma, in the market for a midfielder, have now joined the race to sign Atangana, whilst Al-Ahli, like Roma, have also made an enquiry and begun talks.
