The young centre-back has made 11 appearances across Strasbourg’s U19 and reserve squads this season and is considered a talent with a bright future in the game, impressing at youth level for his calmness and authority on the pitch.
According to L’Équipe, Kiwa was also offered terms for a contract with Strasbourg’s first team, but has instead decided to take his career in a different direction and try his luck at a club fighting at the top end of the Ligue 1 standings.
The departure of a promising youngster will come as a bitter blow to Strasbourg and their owners BlueCo, who have made clear their strategy to prioritise youth development with the long-term goal of producing players for the more illustrious club in their portfolio: Chelsea FC of the Premier League.
