Thiago Motta was appointed as a project manager by Serie A giantts Juventus but given recent results it seems like the project has been put it doubt. While they have been far from their best even in the most positive of times this season, in recent times they have been eliminated from the Coppa Italia by Empoli and thrashed 4-0 by Atalanta in the league.
As per Fabiana Della Valle via Gazzetta.it, the manager is said to have a very professional working relationship with sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli who was crucial to bringing him to the club. He has defended the manager at all instances but in recent times weeks has had to ask questions of Motta.
While right now his position isn’t in immediate danger, if Juventus don’t improve, he might be in trouble. Antonio Conte, Gian Piero Gasperini and Stefano Pioli are said to be the possible replacements. Conte has had a lot of success with the Bianconeri in the past and it is questionable whether he would want to come back. Gasperini does seem to be on the way out at Atalanta but whether he’d want a move to Old Lady is questionable. Pioli is the most likely option then as it stands. He last had a mixed tenure at Milan where he won the league but also had some real lows.
