Barcelona want to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat before the end of the transfer window.
The Moroccan international had an excellent World Cup and has been attracting interest from several European clubs.
While Barcelona were tight on their wage limit earlier in the window and looked like they would be unable to make signings, the departures of Gerard Piqué and Memphis Depay have increased the available budget.
The Blaugrana want a loan deal with an optional buy clause, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. However, Fiorentina would like to make the buy option obligatory, something which Barcelona are restrained from agreeing to by La Liga’s Financial Fair Play rules.
AS reports that the 26-year-old Moroccan is keen on leaving and did not show up to training on Tuesday, which could expedite the negotiation process between Barcelona and Fiorentina.
