Shakhtar’s Georgiy Sudakov reveals Napoli dream

It looks like Serie A crown will go the winner of the battle between Inter and Napoli. But Antonio Conte’s side already have one eye on the summer transfer window. In recent days, Ukrainian side Shakthar Donetsk’s management have announced that a deal for midfielder Georgiy Sudakov with an unspecified club are “at a good stage”. Given their interest in the player in January, the Italian press are speculating that it could be Napoli.

The Ukrainian has been regarded as one of the best young players in the world, and has 13 goals and 6 assists this season. There has been no shortage of interest from elsewhere, with TMW claiming that Juventus are interested too.

When asked about the same, the 22 year old said,”Yes, I heard about Napoli’s interest and, to be honest, I was pleased. When a club like that pays attention to you, it’s a great recognition of your work and your progress.” However he denied that he had had any conversation with Antonio Conte but that working with someone like him would be a great opportunity for the youngster. “Clearly when you talk about clubs like Napoli, it’s a dream for any player. I grew up watching Serie A, I remember the great games of your teams, the legendary players who have been there. Playing in those stadiums, in front of those fans, is something special. I’ve never hidden it: I want to test myself in a top league, against the best,” Sudakov added.
