Seko Fofana cuts short holidays to train alone at Rennes

Rennes midfielder Seko Fofana (29) has cut short his summer break and begun training individually at the club’s training ground, according to L’Équipe. The rest of the squad are not expected back until Friday, with the first session on the pitch scheduled for next Monday.

Fofana, who joined Rennes on loan from Al-Nassr during the January window, has been back at La Piverdière for around ten days already. After a promising start, his form tailed off in the second half of the season after two-and-a-half intense seasons in Saudi Arabia.

The ex-Lens captain appears determined to arrive at full fitness ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, which could prove decisive for his long-term future in Brittany. The former Udinese midfielder played 16 matches last season for the Rouge et Noir bit only scored one goal and provided one assist.
