With a long ban from the game looming for alleged betting irregularities, Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali was making the most training ahead of the Magpies game against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
If various reports end up being accurate, that match is likely to be Tonali’s last until around this time next year.
The Italian was, remarkably, still in good spirits, laughing and joking with his team-mates in Tuesday morning’s session.
Given his importance to Eddie Howe’s squad, his expected suspension from all football related activity has come at the worst possible time.
