Matthias Sammer deemed Bayern Munich the best team in Europe right now, in an interview with Sky Germany.
In an interview with pay-TV broadcaster Sky , the record champions’ former sporting director particularly praised the work of Vincent Kompany.
“They are untouchable thanks to their game plan and individual quality; they are in top shape, have speed, creativity, and technique.
“For me, the symbiosis of coach and team is currently number one in Europe. They have improved even further – even off the ball,” said Sammer, impressed by their dynamism.
He continued to say the Bavarian giants one of the most complete teams in Europe, but warned that even such a run of form won’t last forever.
“Now they have to compensate for that [form] over the next few months. At some point, there will be a point where that might not work so well.
“Then it’s all about winning a game with personality and aura on a bad day,” the 57-year-old emphasized.
Regarding the role of Vincent Kompany, Sammer said of the Belgian coach has a maturity beyond his years.
“He acts like a 55- or 60-year-old – calm, confident, and clear. That is how he conveys stability to his team on and off the field,” he added.
To Sammer, Kompany’s leadership at Bayern has developed a clear structure, tremendous playing strength, and tactical discipline.
