Sam Edozie is set to join Bayer Leverkusen from Manchester City with the deal almost being completed, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Per the report, the winger doesn’t intend to extend his contract at the Premier League club, allowing the Englishman to leave this summer. The 19-year-old is set to sign a two-year contract with Die Werkself, tying him down until 2024.
Edozie made just one senior appearance for City, playing in their 1-0 defeat to Leicester City in the Community Shield last season.
Able to play as a winger as well as an attacking midfielder, he netted two goals in 12 games for Manchester City’s U23 team during the past Premier League 2 campaign.
He also currently has four caps for England’s U19 national team, scoring one.
Should the deal be completed, Edozie will be Leverkusen’s second summer signing, after Adam Hložek moved to the BayArena from Sparta Prague.
