Roma full-back Rick Karsdorp has been dropped by the Giallorossi after Jose Mourinho’s stinging criticism in mid-week.
Mourinho had referred to a player’s unprofessional attitude following Roma’s 1-1 draw against Sassuolo in mid-week. He refused to name the player, but Italian media later revealed that the player in question was Karsdorp. Reports stated that the Dutchman was set to hold talks with the club next week regarding his future.
Roma face Torino on Sunday but Karsdorp is not part of the squad at all, meaning that he may now only feature for the Giallorossi in January.
Lorenzo di Benedetto has reported recently that not only has Karsdorp not been selected, he has already left the Italian capital with his family. It remains to be seen whether he turns up to Rome tomorrow, because that is when Mourinho is set to have a team meeting before the World Cup.
