Serie A side Inter failed to sign Roma’s Manu Kone in the summer after the club’s ownership vetoed the transfer, but they still remain in the hunt for the player.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that seeds have been sown for Inter’s future move for the Frenchman and they can take advantage of Roma’s need to sell players for land the midfielder.
Kone can become Inter’s main target again in January, especially if the Giallorossi weaken their firm stance.
In the summer, the 24-year-old emerged as their main target after their failure to land Ademola Lookman and Cristian Chivu still wants to sign a midfielder who transforms the game for them. Andy Diouf has arrived but Kone is seen as a better option and Oaktree had also decided to make a financial exception to bring him to the San Siro.
Piotr Zielinski and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are not getting any younger and their exits can prove crucial in Inter’s move for Kone.
