Vitor Roque is on the way back from an ankle injury that has sidelined him for two months in Brazil. The 18-year-old striker, signed by Barcelona from Athletico Paranaense has been described by former Barcelona striker Romario as “the most complete striker in Brazil”.
In an interview for the programme Boleiragem – Romario said – in words quoted by MD: “I don’t think comparisons should be made between today’s strikers in relation to Ronaldo and myself.”
Romario, in the 1993-94 La Liga campaign promised he would score 30 goals for Barça and he scored 30 goals; Ronaldo later contributed 47 goals in the 1996-97 season, his only campaign with the Blaugrana after making the move from Dutch outfit PSV.
On Vitor Roque and Endrick
When discussing Brazilian duo Vitor Roque and Endrick, he added: “Both have the ability to leave Athletico Paranense and Palmeiras and go to clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid.”
