Rolfes confirms huge interest in Hincapié

Simon Rolfes has revealed that Piero Hincapié is subject of interest from “many clubs”.

Bayer Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes has confirmed that Piero Hincapié has attracted interest from a number of clubs.

“With him, the situation is relatively simple. I know that many clubs are interested in him,” Rolfes told Kicker.

According to reports, Tottenham, Napoli and AC Milan are among the clubs monitoring the 20-year-old defender. Leverkusen, however, would prefer to keep him.

“He has a long-term contract,” emphasized Rolfes.

Although Hincapié still has four years left on his current deal, ‘Die Werkself’ are considering extending it, according to Kicker.

On the one hand, Leverkusen want to strengthen their own negotiating position for future inquiries, and on the other hand, the club want to reward Hincapié for the huge progress he has made following his transfer from Talleres Cordoba last summer.
