Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes has all but confirmed that Jonathan Tah will remain with the club beyond the summer transfer window.
Tah refused to rule out a move away from Leverkusen earlier in the summer and has been linked with West Ham in particular, but it now seems unlikely that he will leave.
“If nothing crazy comes up – you can never rule that out – then he will stay. There is nothing to suggest that anything else will happen,” Rolfes told Sky.
The fact that Leverkusen don’t want to sell without signing a replacement makes a transfer even less likely.
“There aren’t that many centre-backs available. Accordingly, he will stay,” said Rolfes.
