Olympique de Marseille will be without captain Leonardo Balerdi for Wednesday’s Ligue 1 meeting with Angers, Roberto De Zerbi confirmed in his pre-match press conference – transcribed by La Provence.
The Argentine centre-back joins a lengthy list of absentees that already includes Hamed Jr. Traoré, Amine Gouiri, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Facundo Medina and Timothy Weah, who was forced off injured during Saturday’s draw with Lens.
“It’s nothing too serious, but he already had a small calf issue before the Lens game,” explained De Zerbi at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon. “We don’t want to take any risks, so he won’t even be on the bench.”
