Four members of the first-team setup at Barcelona will be walking the disciplinary tightrope in the club’s next outing.
This comes with the quartet in question all at risk of an incoming suspension.
Xavi’s troops, of course, are set to return to action on Friday night.
With one eye on the 2nd leg of the club’s Champions League Last-16 tie with Italian giants Napoli, Barcelona will play host to relegation-battling Mallorca, in a La Liga clash.
The Blaugrana will head into proceedings in the knowledge that nothing but a victory will suffice, amid ongoing efforts to keep the club’s dwindling hopes of retaining their champion status in Spain’s top-flight alive.
Boss Xavi, as a result, no doubt plans to field a strong starting XI for the Montjuïc clash.
And yet, as alluded to above, in the back of the mind of the Barca headmaster will likely be the prospect of looming suspensions in his squad.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, four high-profile members of Xavi’s ranks are a single yellow card away from a one-game La Liga suspension.
The players in question? Robert Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen, João Cancelo, and Oriol Romeu.
Should any of this quartet be booked against Mallorca, they will, in turn, be forced to sit out the Blaugrana’s ensuing league outing, against Atlético Madrid.
