Bayern Munich announced on Saturday that Manuel Neuer has suffered a setback in his recovery from a calf problem.
According to both Sky Germany and Bild, the 38-year-old is now expected to miss at least the upcoming Bundesliga matches against St. Pauli and Augsburg.
The veteran could return for the first leg of Bayern Munich’s Champions League quarter-final against Inter on 8 April, but it’s far from certain.
Jonas Urbig, who deputized for Neuer before the international break, will remain between the sticks until further notice – provided he’s fit to play himself.
The 21-year-old was forced to leave the German U21 camp with a foot injury, but is expected to return to full training next week ahead of the clash with St Pauli.
