Valentin Rongier will miss Stade Rennais’ tonight’s game against RC Lens through injury, however, Alidu Seidu, who was also a doubt, will likely be fit to start.
Rongier has been an ever-present in the Stade Rennais midfield since joining from Olympique de Marseille over the summer. The Frenchman has started and captained Rennes in all five Ligue 1 games so far, including against his former club FC Nantes, last weekend.
However, he misses out with a calf injury. In his absence, it is Seko Fofana who looks likely to captain Habib Beye’s side. Seidu was also a doubt coming into this game, but he is ultimately fit to start. The concussion protocol had been triggered after he sustained a head injury last weekend.
Rennes likely line-up v Lens
Brice Samba; Anthony Rouault, Jérémy Jacquet, Alidu Seidu; Quentin Merlin, Seko Fofana, Djaoui Cissé, Mahdi Camara, Ludovic Blas; Esteban Lepaul, Breel Embolo. (L’Éq)
