There’s no doubt that Real Madrid are short of central defensive options, following the departures of Nacho Fernandez and Rafa Marin earlier in the summer. David Alaba and Joan Martinez are also unavailable following ACL injuries, which means that Carlo Ancelotti only has three senior players in the position: Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao and the previously-discarded Jesus Vallejo.
Aurelien Tchouameni can also fill in when required, although with Eduardo Camavinga now out for 6-7 weeks with a knee injury, he will be needed more in midfield. As such, Real Madrid have now ensured that they will have more cover at centre-back.
Jacobo Ramon has been with the Real Madrid first team all summer, and he will continue to be at Ancelotti’s disposal this summer – that’s because he has been registered as a first team player, as per Diario AS.
Ramon has been handed the number 31 jersey, meaning that he can still play for Castilla when he is not called upon by Ancelotti. It would be no surprise if the 19-year-old were to make his Real Madrid debut over the coming months.
