Real Madrid star Rodrygo on Wednesday took over sole ownership of the record for the longest goalless streak for an attacker in club history.
This comes after the Brazilian again came up blank in front of goal in Los Blancos’ meeting with Athletic Club.
Real Madrid marked their return to action earlier this evening, making the trip to Bilbao for a La Liga clash with Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic.
When all was said and done, Xabi Alonso’s troops emerged on the right side of a 3-0 result, bringing to an end a three-game winless streak on the domestic front.
The aforementioned Rodrygo was for his part introduced off the bench, for the game’s final 15 minutes.
The 24-year-old again failed to find the net, though, in the process setting a new Blancos club record.
As per statistician ‘MisterChip’ on ‘X’, Rodrygo is now out on his own as the attacker with the most consecutive games without a goal ever for Real Madrid (31).
