Real Madrid star overtakes Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal in La Liga stat

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé this past weekend leapfrogged Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal in the table of leaders for most completed dribbles in La Liga this season.

Frontman Mbappé is for his part of course fresh off a match-winning display in Spain’s top-flight.

After Real Madrid made the trip to Anoeta for a meeting with Real Sociedad, the Frenchman notched both goals in a 2-1 Blancos triumph.

His performance proved so much more than just goals, though, with Mbappé having continued to terrorise opposing defenders with lightning pace and explosive dribbling.

And as alluded to above, it is his efforts in the latter category which have this week given rise to a head-turning statistic.

As revealed across La Liga’s social media channels, after Lamine Yamal missed Barcelona’s drubbing of Valencia through injury, Mbappé took advantage of the opportunity to become the new outright leader in completed dribbles in Spain’s top-flight this season.

The Real Madrid man has now racked up 19 to Lamine’s 18, with Nico Williams next up with 16.
