Real Madrid ratings | FIFA 23 launch

Heading into the new game cycle, Real Madrid once again boast several players who are the crème de la crème in their position. A number of players have received well-deserved upgrades after a stunning season with Los Blancos.

GOALKEEPERS:

Thibaut Courtois: 90 (+1): The Belgian goes up by one rating to become the joint-highest rated goalkeeper in the game. Well deserved after a phenomenal season, which included a record-breaking 9 saves in the Champions League final.

Andriy Lunin: 75 (+1): The 23-year-old receives a small boost, making him a gold card this year.

DEFENDERS:

Dani Carvajal: 84 (-1): Perhaps harshly, given some incredible performances in the big games, Carvajal receives a slight downgrade.

Lucas Vázquez: 81 (=): Vázquez now starts off as a right-back on FIFA 23, retaining his rating from the previous cycle.

Álvaro Odriozola: 78 (-1): Receives a small decrease in his rating after his loan spell at Fiorentina.

Éder Militão: 84 (+2): Following his first season as an undisputed starter in defense, the Brazilian receives a good upgrade up to 84, including a phenomenal 86 pace.

David Alaba: 86 (+2): The Austrian oozed class in his debut campaign at the Santiago Bernabéu, going up by two ratings.

Antonio Rüdiger: 87 (+4): Rüdiger grew into one of the world’s finest centre-backs under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea, leaping up four ratings in FIFA 23.

Nacho: 82 (+1): Was solid whenever called upon last year, receiving a +1 as a result.

Ferland Mendy: 83 (=): Despite no upgrade, Ferland Mendy continues into the FIFA 23 as one of the game’s premium left-backs, still boasting the pace and physical attributes that has made him a virtual legend.

Jesús Vallejo: 75 (=): Maintains his rating from the previous game cycle.

MIDFIELDERS:

Aurélien Tchouaméni: 82 (+4): The Frenchman is fast becoming a fan-favourite at Real Madrid, and with a +4 upgrade, he may soon become a fan-favourite for gamers as well.

Luka Modrić: 88 (+1): Madrid’s ageless midfield custodian is arguably slightly underrated in FIFA 23, only ranking in as the game’s joint-fifth highest rated midfielder.

Toni Kroos: 88 (=): The German keeps his rating after a consistent 2021-22 season.

Fede Valverde: 84 (+1): The man of the hour at the Bernabéu, Valverde continues to win lovers both on the pitch and the game.

Eduardo Camavinga: 79 (+1): He receives only a +1, despite often being the game-changer during Real Madrid’s run to the Champions League title.

Dani Ceballos: 77 (=): Unlucky not to be upgraded following some good displays in the latter half of last season.

FORWARDS:

Rodrygo: 81 (+2): A well-deserved upgrade after some memorable moments last season.

Marco Asensio: 83 (=): The Spaniard keeps his rating from FIFA 22, despite falling down the pecking order through the course of last season.

Karim Benzema: 91 (+2): The front-runner for the Ballon d’Or is now the joint-highest rated player in the game, and it couldn’t be more merited.

Vinícius Jr: 86 (+6): The biggest, yet least surprising upgrade. A terrific coming of age season – in which he banged in 22 goals – sees him become one of FIFA 23’s very best players from the get-go.

Eden Hazard: 84 (-1): The Belgian is perhaps lucky to get away with only a small downgrade after another miserable season.

Mariano Díaz: 74 (-1): Minimal involvement last season means that Mariano is downgraded to a silver this year.

Thanks to a scintillating season and some well-deserved upgrades, Real Madrid remain one of the first teams to pick in a session of FIFA 23 with friends.
