Spanish scout Andres Manzano claims that Real Madrid and Barcelona rejected the opportunity to sign Jude Bellingham years ago.

Barcelona and Real Madrid turned down the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jude Bellingham in the past, according to Spanish scout and Birmingham City sports advisor Andres Manzano.

Manzano claims that either of the Spanish La Liga giants could have signed Bellingham from Birmingham City years ago if they had followed his advice.

“He was going to leave, and my job consisted of offering him to important clubs, including Real Madrid and Barca,” Manzano told Diario AS.

“Both had the opportunity to trial him but neither wanted to face the investment it required at that time. They did not bet on him.”

Bellingham went on to join Dortmund in the summer of 2019. At the age of 19, the highly-rated English midfielder has already featured 117 times for the club, racking up 20 goals and 24 assists.
